The scam operated as follow:-
The scammer usually introduce them self as a very legitimate businessman/women and they need your help to receive payments on their behalf. You will be employed as a freelance basis that you may work right at your home to process the payments and will be given the various position such as sales sale representative, sale collections agents, account executive, branch manager, account representative, business partner, etc.
Victim Jobs Scope:
Their clients (normally will be anonymous) will issue cheque payments to YOUR PERSONAL NAME and you have to bank it in your personal account. After bank-in, you need to deduct 10% (sometimes higher) of the amount as your commission and the balance 90% of it shall be transferred back to scammer via western union or money gram transfer or whatsoever ways. This way, you will earn 10% of all the payment you received. It sounds very lucrative job.
Note: Western union and money gram are used widely for international money transfer that do require a person to register his/her personal detail before receiving any fund. In this way the scammer can easily receive the fund from the victim without being traced.
Reason given by scammer on why they need the service?
The reason, they give are very ridiculous. I have summarized a few of it below:-
They are too busy with receiving and processing payment.
They reside in country that does not accept foreign currencies.
- Think about it, which country doesn't take in US Dollar?
TT involved a high bank charges.
- Isn't it 10% commission to the victim for each payment is high?
Oversea checks take times to clear and not guaranteed of delivery.
- What if the victim run away with their money, Isn't that more riskier than using a bank?
Their clients don't have money gram or western union service in their country.
Tax Issues.

Scammer might be using this scam to perform the following illegal activities:
1. Money laundering
2. Funding of illegal activities
3. Auction fraud
4. Sales fraud
