Profile:
The main objective of scoping is to understand the client’s issues and to assess whether and how an activity based costing project could help
The first step during this initial scoping phase (either pre-project or at the very start of the project) is to hold a kick-off meeting with the client at which you can begin to:
discuss and understand the client’s business (see step 1.2)
discuss and agree the client’s business issues (see step 1.3)
analyze with the client the importance and extent of the issues to be resolved
prioritize the client’s issues
seek out data to qualify/quantify the business issues
discuss and agree the likelihood of ABC solving the issues
(see step 1.4)
This is also your opportunity to meet the project sponsors and the project manager if one has been appointed (see step 1.5)
