Summary of Job description:
Accountabilities:

• Provide Second and Third Line technical support, including the communication of complex problems to appropriate support teams/software vendors.
• Monitor the availability and performance of the SAP XI and SAP BW infrastructure services regularly to ensure that agreed service levels are met, using tools, processes and systems as appropriate.
• Ensure that any potential problems i.e. performance degradation, reliability and security issues are addressed proactively.
• Run daily health checks on eProcurement systems during on-call rotation
• Manage and/or perform system patching/maintenance at scheduled intervals
• Provide Basis technical support for BW systems
• Participate in annual system recovery testing
• Participate in IT security audits and perform security remediation work
• Provide rotational on-call support
• Provide knowledge transfer/coaching sessions for team members when required
• Run projects in a professional way and deliver proper results on time
• Respond to all requests for assistance logged through the Support Desk in a timely and efficient manner and according to agreed service levels, standards and procedures.
• Monitor and progress all assigned tasks and as appropriate follow all processes and procedures for problem, change, configuration, capacity and inventory management.
• Maintain accurate problem resolution records, including resolution details.
• Propose technical solutions, within the scope of his/her expertise, which fully takes into account the business needs of the customers.
• Propose, discuss and evaluate potential solutions amongst colleagues and/or other service providers and implement resolutions as appropriate.
• Provide detailed technical advice and guidance to other Analysts and Helpdesk Agents in the effective use of systems, products and services available to them.
• Operate effectively without direct supervision but within a clear accountability framework.
• Ensure all variances against service levels are highlighted to relevant managers while trying to resolve any conflict or contention for services.
• Initiate action to maintain or enhance levels of service within sphere of operation, recognising issues that need to be referred for approval.
• Plan and monitor the use of their own time to ensure that assigned activities are managed within agreed targets.
• Provide draft solutions where gaps in the knowledge are identified reactively in addition to suggesting pro-active solutions where technical changes are being made.
• Ensure that he/she adheres to HSE & Information Security policies and standards and maintain a high level of safety awareness.
• Support and Contribute toward the maintenance of Service Excellence principles within the organisation.

Specific Skill required:

• A minimum of 5 years in IT, preferably with 3 or more years in SAP Basis
• Technically competent in eProcurement technologies e.g. XI & BW
• A minimum of two-year experience in Wintel platforms (with strong background in NT and W2K).
• Experience in overall server operations (including basic administration, security, networking, backup, monitoring, and virus scan activities).
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, Firewalls, and Network protocols.
• Knowledge of IP and networks and application integration with operating system and middleware layers.
• Experience using NetMeeting and Windows Terminal Server for remote access to servers.
