Summary of Job description:
To develop a simple inventory and invoicing software that run on a PDA. This software is for the use by the sales teams of a manufacturing company.

The software will consist of two parts highlighted below.

Part A. Run on a PDA
================
This part of software will be run on the PDA and consist of the following features:

1. Inventory databases that stores product description, pictures and stock quantity
2. Product search and result display
3. Create an invoices, quotation or order form and deduct stock level from the PDA databases
4. print the invoices, quote and order form to an portable printer
5. convert invoices, quote and order to an PDF and to be mailed to customer
6. convert invoices, quote and order form to an email text and then send via email to the company HQ.
7. Syn data back to a desktop PC based master inventory databases

Part B. Run on desktop PC
===================
This portion of the system will be run on a desktop PC and consist of the following features:

1. Contains of master inventory databases that stores products inventory data, customer history and orders history data.
2. Users will have the functions to choose and prepare any inventory items that will later syn to the PDA.
3. Syn and retrive data stored from the PDA.
4. Generate managerial and sales reports.
5. Simple data backup and restore functions.

Sample of application usage:
=====================

• The sales person will download all the products details and stock level from the master databases before he/she go to meet the customers. (Part B.2 & B.3)
• At the customers place, he/she will take down the customers order using the PDA and then generate invoices and print out using the a portable printer (Part A.3 and A.4).
• Then the invoiced item will be emailed back to HQ for recording. (Part A.6).
• When the he/she is back in the HQ, he will syn back all the orders taken back to the master databases and generates sales reports. (Part A.7 & B.4)

Specific Skill required:
Database: MS Access or MS SQL
Programming Language: Preferred using Ms Embedded Visual or window based tools
Target OS: Windows Mobile and/or Palm which can run on a PDA only (not a cellphone)
