Jakarta is a busy metropolis, yet it is only a 60-90 minute boat ride to the Thousand Islands; a tranquil weekend getaway thatís a great place for diving and snorkeling with its vibrant coral reefs, or just to relax and sunbathe on the beaches.

Jakarta itself has a lot to offer as well with all kind of restaurants where you can try cuisine from not just Indonesia but all over the world. The night life offers something for everyone, thereís live music, clubs and some themed bars too. There are numerous sporting facilities ranging from fitness clubs to paint ball! As well as local art exhibitions and some local theatre, Jakarta hosts the Java Jazz festival each year.

EF English First is a world renowned language institution using its own teaching books and materials specifically developed for Asian students offering a complete teaching package for the teacher to work from. At the moment we have six schools in the group, they are located in central Jakarta, the outskirts of Jakarta and the neighboring city of Bogor. Each area is unique and has varying features that our teachers enjoy living and working in.
